Zepeel Inc. respects the privacy of its users and has developed this Privacy Policy to demonstrate its commitment to protecting your privacy. This policy describes the personal information we collect, how that information may be used, with whom it may be shared, and how we protect it. This policy also describes your rights and the choices you can make about your personal information. What personal information we collect about you
Information you provide to us
We may collect and store the personal information you provide to us when using our website/application and services, including:
- your name, address, email address, telephone number and your pictures and videos that you provide and upload for us to verify your identity;
- financial information such as your payment information (credit card number, expiration date or other financial information), that we use to validate your purchase if you upgrade your services through our website or mobile applications.
- information about your interests and activities, your gender, sexual orientation, demographic information, age and other similar information that you may disclose on your profile, including through various forms of media such as pictures and videos. This information is used to create your online profile.
When applying for a position with Zepeel, we may also collect the personal information that you submit through our website as part of the application process. This information may include: your name and contact information, prior education and experience, and other similar employment history information. We only use this information in connection with considering and acting upon your application.
Information you provide about yourself while using our services
We provide areas on our applications where you can post information about yourself and communicate with others or upload content such as videos and photographs. Such postings are governed by our Terms of Use Agreement.
You may also choose to share personal information when you interact with other users on our application through private video calls or video and text messages. Please be careful and cautious with your personal information and make sure that you are comfortable with sharing personal information with other users since we are not able to control what others do with your information once you share it.
If you choose to provide personal information on publicly available section of our mobile application or website that information may become be publicly available and can be collected and used by others. For example, if you post your email address, you may receive unsolicited messages. We cannot control who reads your posting or what other users may do with the information you voluntarily post, so we encourage you to exercise discretion and caution with respect to your personal information.
Information we collect automatically
When you use our website or mobile applications, we may place cookies, web beacons and other similar technologies or similar technology on your device and automatically collect certain information from your browser or mobile device. We use this information to facilitate access to our website and to personalize your online experience. This information includes:
- Device information: your IP address, device ID and type, your browser type and language,
- Usage information: access times, content of any undeleted cookies that your browser previously accepted from us, referring website address, your online activity on the website or mobile application, such as the web pages you visit, the time and date of your visits, the links you click, and the searches you conduct on our website.
- Other information With your consent: general location.
We may also include web beacons in advertisements or email messages to collect information about your interaction with our advertisements and whether messages have been opened and acted upon. The information we obtain in this manner enables us to customize the services we offer our users to deliver targeted advertisements and to measure the overall effectiveness of our online advertising, content, programming or other activities.
Information collected by third-parties
While using the Services or during your visits to other websites where we advertise, Zepeel or third parties may use certain data collected through your use of our services to show you advertisements likely to be of greater interest to you. You may control the collection of data during your use of our website and services through your choices and settings involving the collection and storage of cookies on your computer or mobile device. If you opt-out of cookies or choose to prevent third-party websites or apps from accessing our cookies through your privacy settings, please note that you may not be able to sign in or use some of the interactive features that Zepeel offers on our websites and mobile applications.
We may also allow third-parties, advertising companies and ad networks, to display advertisements on our website or mobile application. These companies may use tracking technologies, such as cookies, to collect information about users who view or interact with their advertisements. This information allows them to deliver targeted advertisements and gauge their effectiveness. We do not directly provide any personal information about you to these third parties.
The Zepeel mobile application uses Firebase for push notifications. Firebase creates and collects a unique identifier that is required for its services. More information regarding the collection and use of that data can be found here: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
How we use the information we collect
In the addition to the uses identified above, we may also use the personal information that we collect about you as follows:
- create your account and profile on our platform;
- deliver the services that you have requested;
- manage your account and provide you with customer support;
- analyse your use of, or interest in, our products, services, or content, or products, services or content offered by others;
- with your consent, to communicate with you by email, phone or text about products or services that may be of interest to you either from us or other third parties;
- develop and display content and advertising tailored to your interests on our app/site and other sites;
- verify your eligibility and deliver prizes in connection with contests, challenges and sweepstakes;
- enforce or exercise our rights in accordance with our Terms of Use or under the law;
- manage our business;
- to process payment for any purchases made relating to our services,
- to enroll you in the discount, rebate, and other programs in which you elect to participate,
- provide Zepeel advertisements to you when you visit other sites;
- detect, prevent or investigate security breaches or fraud;
- protect our business, including to enforce rights or to comply with applicable laws; and
- for any other purposes to which you provided consent.
You may refuse to provide us with your personal information. However, some personal information is necessary for us to provide our services to you.
How we may share your personal information
We do not share your personal information with others except as indicated below or as allowed under applicable legislation. In providing our services to you, we may share personal information with the following:
Service providers
We may share your personal information with third parties that perform certain services on our behalf. These services may include process credit card payments, or providing customer service and marketing assistance, performing business and sales analysis, member screenings, supporting the delivery of our services and functionality, and supporting contests, sweepstakes, surveys and other features offered through the website and mobile applications. For example, if you provided personal information as part of a job application with Zepeel, we may share such information with third-party service providers we retain to collect, maintain and analyze candidate submissions for job postings.
Legally permitted disclosures
We also may disclose your information, including personal information:
In response to a subpoena or similar investigative demand, a court order, or a request for cooperation from a law enforcement or other government agency; to establish or exercise our legal rights; to defend against legal claims; or as otherwise required by law. In such cases, we may raise or waive any legal objection or right available to us in our sole discretion.
When we believe disclosure is appropriate in connection with efforts to investigate, prevent, or take other action regarding illegal activity, suspected fraud or other wrongdoing; to protect and defend the rights, property or safety of our company, our users, our employees, or others; to comply with applicable law or cooperate with law enforcement; or to enforce our Terms of Use Agreement or other agreements or policies.
To a buyer or a successor, in connection with a substantial corporate transaction, such as the sale of our business, a divestiture, merger, consolidation, or asset sale, or in the unlikely event of bankruptcy.
Where and how long we store your personal information
We may store and process the personal information that we collect, process or use on servers located in Canada and the United States. Information stored in other jurisdictions may be subject to the laws of general application of that county. If we transfer your personal information outside of your jurisdiction, we will take steps to ensure your personal information is adequately protected in accordance with applicable privacy and data protection laws. When you are using our application from outside of Canada or the United States, your information will be transferred to Canada or United States for processing and storage.
We only retain your personal information as long as necessary for the purpose for which we collected it or as needed for any legal or reporting requirements. When no longer necessary, we safely destroy or delete your personal information that is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected, including for the purposes of processing the service or product you ordered, or meeting any legal or reporting requirements. Information you provide as part of an application for employment with Zepeel will be retained for a period of time, but only as long as necessary for the purpose of considering your application for current or future available positions.
Face Data Collection, Use, Disclosure, Sharing and Retention
The Face Data we are collecting is called Face Descriptors. We use Face Descriptors to verify a user and find them matches on the app. We are not sharing a user’s face descriptors data with any third parties. We are storing this data in our database. When a user deletes their account, all their user details and data along with the face descriptors are permanently deleted from our database. Face verifying and face matching are core functionalities of the app and the data is only retained until the user deletes their account.
How we protect your personal information
We use reasonable and appropriate security measures designed to help secure your personal information against unauthorized use, loss, access, modification, destruction or disclosure while it is in our custody or under our control. These measures include physical, organizational and technological measures that are proportionate to the quantity and sensitivity of the personal information. Physical measures include secure work areas, and technological measures include encryption, firewalls, anti-virus and system security monitoring. Organizational measures include the use of access controls to restrict access to personal information on a “need to know” basis for our employees, contractors and agents.
Your Rights to access, correct or erase your personal information
If you have an online account with us, you have the ability to access, review, update or delete your personal information online by logging into your account and clicking on your account settings. You may also may close or hide your account at any time by visiting the “Privacy Settings” page for your account.
Note that if you close your account, you will not be able to sign in to our application/website or access any of your personal information. Your personal information will be deleted from our servers in accordance with our retention policy. We may still retain certain information associated with your account for analytical purposes and record keeping integrity, as well as to prevent fraud, collect any fees owed, enforce our terms and conditions, and take actions we deem necessary to protect the integrity of our application/website or our users, or as otherwise permitted by law.
Subject to specific requirements or limitations under applicable law, you have the right to or withdraw your consent at any time to the collection, use, disclosure or any other form of processing of your personal information. In addition you may request access to and obtain a copy of any of your personal information that we hold, to request the correction of any inaccurate, outdated or incomplete information related to you or to request the deletion of your personal information under certain circumstances. You also have the right to know the types of personal information is being collected, whether your personal information is being sold or shared, and to whom it is being sold or shared.

Children’s privacy
We restrict the use of our application and website services to individuals age 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. None of our products or services are intended for use by children under the age of 13. If you believe we have collected information from your child in error or have questions or concerns about our practices relating to children, please notify us by sending an email to privacy@zepeel.com and we will respond promptly.
Third-party websites
When you click on a link to access other websites, applications, content or social media accounts directly from our application or website, note that such third parties do not operate under this Privacy Policy. For example, if you click on an advertisement on our application or website, you may be taken to a website that we do not control. These third-party websites may independently solicit and collect information from you, including personal information. In some instances, these third parties may provide us with information about your activities on those websites. We recommend that you consult the privacy statements of all third-party websites you visit by clicking on the “privacy” link typically located at the bottom of the webpage you are visiting.
